Important CMS Dates For Summer

Below are important dates for CMS students to know this summer.

Cruise The Halls - This is a casual opportunity to walk through the building and get your bearings at your own pace. Students must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Bring a copy of your schedule.

August 6: 9:00-10:00 am
August 10: 11:00-12:00 pm
August 12: 1:00-2:00 pm

 

CMS Student Tour - August 18: 6:30-7:30 pm

  • Both parents and students are welcome
  • Meet in the auditorium for a brief talk
  • Locate classrooms (bring your schedule)
  • Practice opening lockers

 

Step Up Day - August 24: 7:10-11:40 am

  • A special day to help students transition smoothly to middle school
  • Only 7th Graders attend school
  • Students should take the bus to school
  • Students will rotate through info stations
  • Lunch will be served

Registration for Football and Cheer is open through August 11th, and early numbers are already well ahead of recent years. Thank you for choosing MYAA. Froelich Park remains one of the most desired venues in the county — the lights, concessions, and atmosphere will make this season unforgettable for our athletes.

Eligibility: Any child who lives in the Hempfield School District is eligible to participate in Mountville Football or Cheer.

Season Kickoff Fundraiser

Car Wash & Fish/Chicken Platter Drive‑Up Fundraiser Saturday, July 25th • 12 PM – 6 PM • Froelich Park
Tickets are $15 and include a drive‑up platter. Email MountvilleYouthFootball@gmail.com or CheerMountville@gmail.com to purchase tickets. Thank you for supporting our programs!

Golf Tournament Flyer

Support the Hempfield basketball teams by signing up for their golf tournament scheduled for Friday, August 7, at Crossgates Golf Course. The event begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Twin Rose Family Medicine, in collaboration with Highmark Wholecare and The Central PA Food Bank, is hosting a free Farmer's Market to provide fresh produce to all. No income guidelines or ID are required. Community agencies will also be on site with information tables. 

Friday, June 5, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. @ 306 N. 7th Street, Columbia, PA 17512

Community members do not have to have Highmark Wholecare as their insurance carrier to participate.

Film Festival

Students participated in a cooperative film festival at Elizabethtown College. They were put into groups with students from other area middle schools and given a prompt to create films during the day. Students ended the day by watching the videos created by each group and voting on the winners for each category of prompts. It was an informative, fun, and very hot day!!
